Since the early 1970’s the Technics 1200 turntable has been the industry standard for professional DJ’s worldwide. I have personally only used Technics turntables as well as Technics headphones since the start of my DJ career. Custom Motorcycle designer Roland Sands recently designed a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle paying homage to the popular DJ brand and The Technics Sporty is the final result. The custom motorcycle’s design has taken a few cues from the SL-1200 turntable. It boasts the silver and black finish that has been a part of the Technics brand and the wheels on the bike actually look like a Technics 1200 turntable when they are rotated. The turntable inspired cafe style racer integrates subtle yet noticeable design elements from Technics giving a whole new meaning to the term “Wheels Of Steel”.
