DJ BLAK MAGIC Presents “African American History For Dummies-The Mixtape”

Today marks the beginning of Black History Month, which by the way is celebrating its 35th year in existence. Black History month was started back in 1926 as Negro History week by Carter G. Woodson. It was used to educate and instill a sense of pride in African Americans. The same can be said about my mixtape “African American History For Dummies”. The Mixtape was released in conjunction with the book entitled “African American History For Dummies” by author Ronda Racha Penrice. Every song featured on the project explores the black experience in America from a Hip Hop point of view.  The intro to the mixtape is done by Michael Eric Dyson and it features music by Dead Prez, Talib Kweli, Common, Mos Def, Goodie Mob, Arrested Development, Public Enemy and many more. Check out the mixtape :
